Casa de Moneda, through its Sustainability Coordination and with the technical support of a team of specialized engineers, is working for the first time in its history on the measurement and calculation of its carbon footprint.

This will allow for a quantified understanding of the environmental impact of the company’s production and logistical processes through a single indicator, and thus develop mitigation strategies to reduce that impact.

This way, our organization joins as a pioneering State-owned companies in the Republic of Argentina in carrying out this measurement.

The procedure will take place during the second semester of this year, starting with visits to the Retiro and Don Torcuato plants by the team of specialized engineers. They will then proceed with the assessment of greenhouse gas emissions of various scopes that are associated with our daily activities.

This measurement will provide a precise overview of the environmental effects generated not only by the production processes of our organization but also by certain activities within our value chain.

Once the measurement values are known, a series of measures will be implemented with the aim of transforming Casa de Moneda into a carbon-neutral company.

This new challenge for the organization adds to an existing dynamic of waste reduction, recycling through partnerships with cooperatives, and the conservation of company resources. This further strengthens an organizational culture that is increasingly sustainable in terms of environmental, social, and economic aspects.
