On Friday, November 3rd, Casa de Moneda received the visit of various monetary authorities from the region who participated in the 2nd Symposium on Fundamentals for Modern Banknotes, organized by Crane Currency.

On Friday, November 3rd, Casa de Moneda received the visit of various monetary authorities from the region who participated in the 2nd Symposium on Fundamentals for Modern Banknotes, organized by Crane Currency.

At the event, which took place from October 31st to November 3rd, experts from Central Banks and Mints worldwide exchanged their most recent experiences in banknote design and analyzed the current market situation regarding security, accessibility, and various available technologies against counterfeiting.

CMA invited the organizers and participants of the symposium to take a tour of its plant in the Retiro neighborhood with the aim of sharing its experience and trajectory in the development and production of banknotes. The tour was conducted by Diego Oller, General Production Manager; Laura Feider, Valued Species Development Manager; and Adriana Álvarez, Production Manager of Values in the Retiro Plant.

The visit included representatives from Crane Currency, Casa da Moeda do Brasil, Monetary Authority of the Cayman Islands, Banco de la República de Colombia, Banco de Guatemala, Banco Central de Honduras, and Banco de México.
