Casa de Moneda adhered to the United Nations Global Compact
The President of Casa de Moneda Argentina, Ángel Mario Elettore, received the Board of Directors of the Argentine Network of the United Nations Global Compact, formed by its Executive Director, Flavio Fuertes; the Contributions and Training Manager, Marcelo López; and the Communications Manager, Carolina Rimoldi; to formalize CMA’s adherence to the largest social responsibility initiative in the country.
In this regard, Elettore stated: “Since the beginning of this new administration, we set out to be part of the Global Compact, joining them on the path of sustainability and promoting policies of quality, transparency, and integrity aimed at improving the important work carried out by Casa de Moneda. In addition, we are proud to be a pioneer mint in this initiative.”
In the same vein, the Executive Director of the Global Compact, Flavio Fuertes, mentioned: “It is always a source of pride to add a new organization committed to the 10 principles and working for sustainability, and when a state-owned company with the characteristics of Casa de Moneda does so, the joy is even greater.”
The meeting with the representatives of the Global Compact included a tour of Casa de Moneda to learn about the different processes, technologies, and security measures implemented by the company in each of its products.
Currently, the United Nations Global Compact has more than 20,000 entities adhering in over 160 countries, and within Argentina, CMA joined important state-owned companies such as AySA and YPF.
Committed to generating a more stable, transparent, environmentally friendly, equitable, and inclusive global market, Casa de Moneda Argentina shares the practices of the 10 universal principles promoted by the United Nations in the Global Compact.
In this way, respect for and protection of human rights, the defense of high labor standards, the care and respect of the environment, the use of new production technologies, as well as actions to eradicate corruption in all its forms, are marks that identify and will identify this institution within its productive and administrative processes.
Adherence to the United Nations Global Compact ratifies the three pillars of CMA: management, order, and transparency; in addition to the substantial contribution to the 2030 Agenda in terms of transparency, sustainability, and innovation.
The adherence ceremony was attended by the Director of CMA, Cristina Tchintian; the Executive General Manager, Laureano Quiroga; the General Production Manager, Diego Oller; the Corporate Management Manager, Alejandro Tullio; the Sustainability Coordinator, María José Comes Errecart; and the Integral Security Manager, Agustín Rodriguez.
