The proposed renewal for the new family of banknotes of the Nation, which marks the return of the national heroes and heroines of Argentine history, includes the commemorative banknote of 2000 pesos as a homage to the national development of science and public health featuring the image of the Malbrán Institute, Dr. Cecilia Grierson, and Dr. Ramón Carillo.
Design at the service of security
The commemorative banknote of 2000 pesos combines a century-old expertise in the development of valued species with artistic techniques and cutting-edge technology at the service of security. Among the implemented security features, the windowed security thread, the watermark depicting the images of Ramón Carrillo and Cecilia Grierson, microprinting, latent image, complementary front-back design, and magnetic, infrared, and luminescent inks stand out. It is important to note that, in terms of accessibility, this banknote incorporates a new identification code for people with visual impairment through a new version of optically variable ink that provides a tactile relief sensation.
This new banknote was designed in tribute to Public Health, the development of science, and medicine in Argentina. Taking into account the situation of the pandemic that affected our country and the world, where the role played by healthcare professionals was crucial.
